A big thank you to Stephanie and Eve from UHB for delivering a session to our Year 8 and Year 9 students. Through an interactive NHS quiz, students explored the wide range of opportunities available, learning that there are over 350 different roles within the NHS. Eve encouraged students to reflect on their own hobbies and interests and showed how these can translate into meaningful NHS careers, highlighting relevant routes and essential skills.

This session strongly supports our commitments to the Gatsby Benchmarks 2, 4 and 5 by broadening our students’ understanding of the labour market, linking curriculum learning to real world careers, and providing a meaningful encounter with employers.

The interactive and relatable approach was particularly effective in supporting the careers readiness of our students, helping to build confidence, raise aspirations and support informed future choices.
